Hello Friends of the Electron Workshop! What a jam-packed month June was! Valhalla Social Cinema had their inaugural 24-hour movie marathon at the Electron Workshop in June, transforming the Electron Workshop into a sanctuary for die-hard Sci-Fi fans. DrupalChix, Melbourne Podcasters and OpenTechSchool continued to spread ideas, and CryptoParty were back once again to teach security and privacy tools. Discover your inner geek, hop on your bike and come to one of our events this month!

‘Mystery Event’ = Valhalla Social Cinema Sci-Fi Marathon: Our ‘intriguing mystery event’ at the start of the month turned out to be a Sci-Fi marathon put on by none other than Valhalla Social Cinema! Films were presented in hi-def and six decades of groundbreaking science fiction were screened over 24-hours. Watch this space for future Valhalla Events.

Cross-pollination over Lunchtime Learning! We had our first ‘lunchtime learning’ session last Friday. Jenny Jiang discussed her ‘This is What We Do’ project, which gave her an opportunity to share her ideas, vent her frustrations, and get some feedback from members who have gone before. These monthly get-togethers aim to give us a chance to get to know one another and the sorts of projects we are working on. Next month we have leadership and management guru Keith Miller of LMA discussing: “What colour is your personality?”

Le Blog du Jour… Brewing Ideas: Check out Hamish Crittenden of Melbourne Made’s blog on the latest project he’s been developing with colleague, Frank Radocaj.

Free Co-working Fridays: Coworking at the Electron Workshop on Fridays continues to be free & open to those who have not yet had the opportunity to work in the space. Email jeanette [-at-] electron workshop dot com dot au if you’re interested in visiting for the day. Fridays at Electron Workshop are a great opportunity to come and meet new people.
